The Workflow:

Start with a space, an environment, see what comes out of it.
Water is life, they say. Maybe the life of a body; the life of a mind is a slow photon in the liquid vessel... I'll start with water. I think it was a sample of water thrown back and forth in a granular sampler so the particles exhibited enough chaos to resemble a real environment. Splashing through air, the surface is always felt, and we never submerge.
The water contained minerals, these became the crystals, stones and metals you hear.
There's enough complexity now, I start to see rhythms and textures in it. Feeling good, hydrated. Searching for treasure. I feel a doubt about if this is good or not.

The search for treasure... is not the treasure itself.
The thought which doubts... is not the failure itself.
Uncollapsed possibilities are in opposition, the space between becomes somehow more tangible than either polarity.

This central point perplexed and hypnotized me, I could only listen to what I had written, I couldn't add or subtract. Completing the sessions felt impossible for years... Even now having finished the material, the spirit of the question remains.

An illuminated riddle suspended on the skin of the water.

Dark, haunting, primeval. This soundtrack was really the icing on the cake for Hyper Demon. I always pause at the main menu just to hear this soundtrack. Though I have just as much nostalgia with Volume Alpha, I think this one is a little more nostalgic for me. I was primarily a creative mode player cause I sucked at survival mode for a while and I played the console versions a lot. It was not until quarantine came around that I played survival mode often. I own the CD and I pre-ordered the vinyl cause I love this album. AG319 Alt Acc
